Shared Education

Millburn Primary School is proud to partner with St Malachy’s Primary School, Coleraine, in a vibrant and meaningful Shared Education journey. Established in 2014, our partnership was one of the first Shared Education programmes in Northern Ireland and has gone on to achieve great success, being recognised as a benchmark for good practice across the region.

Through this collaboration, pupils from both schools come together regularly to learn with, from, and about each other in a supportive and inclusive environment. The programme provides valuable opportunities for children to build friendships, develop mutual respect, and celebrate both the similarities and unique aspects of their communities.

Working collaboratively across a range of curricular areas, pupils engage in shared learning experiences that promote teamwork, communication, and understanding. This partnership has enriched the educational experience for all involved, fostering confidence, empathy, and a strong sense of belonging.

By learning side by side, our pupils are developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to thrive in a diverse and connected society.
